The International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated today 22 April 2021

Thursday, April 22, 2021
This day was created to encourage and empower girls and young women through ICTs. It wants to engage stakeholders and partners to inspire girls in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics careers through formation, sharing, capacity building activities and role models during the year. International Girls in ICTs will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary this year.

On Girls in ICT Day 2021, we encourage you to focus your activities around social media outreach and virtual events, rather than live gatherings. This is a unique opportunity to demonstrate the power of technology. Share your virtual celebrations, photos, testimonials and discussions through digital platforms such as TikTok, Zoom, Skype, Jabber, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Facetime, Snapchat and many more.

To spark the interest of girls to join your virtual celebration try to be specific, creative, and innovative. It is also important to allow your audience to understand the objective of your activity and the expected outcomes.
