The 5th of February was a day of joy and gladness filled with the love and grace of God. Two of our confreres Christopher Silwembe and Stanislas Jobo were ordained priests by the new archbishop of Lilongwe, His Grace George Desmond Tambala, OCD. The ordination took place at St. Anne’s Guillime parish in Malawi. The occasion was graced with many people.

This was the very first ordination at which he presided since he became the local ordinary of Lilongwe. In his homily, the prelate reminded the newly ordained that priesthood is not hired labour. He thus invited them to express love for God and the people they are called to serve. He further called upon them to emulate the example of Christ the Good Shepherd (Cfr. Jn. 10:11-18).

Fr. Stanislas has been assigned to the Malawi-Zambia province while Fr. Silwembe has been assigned to the province of Kenya. We thank the Lord for the gift of priesthood and we accompany them with our prayers.
