The Ethiopian Catholic Bishops Conference went to the Holy See in Rome for their quinquennial Ad Limina visit with Pope Francis. This pilgrimage allows the bishops to renew their bonds with the Holy Father, visit the tombs of Saints, explore Vatican Dicasteries, and share updates on the Ethiopian Catholic Church, including both its triumphs and its struggles.

El viernes 22 de junio concluyó en Verona (Italia) la Asamblea provincial de las Misioneras Combonianas de Europa. La congregación está en plena reestructuración de circunscripciones y actualmente todo el continente europeo constituye una única provincia con comunidades en Italia, Portugal, España y Reino Unido. La asamblea abordó las principales cuestiones de la vida de la Provincia en un contexto marcado por el gran número de hermanas mayores.

The Salesian Sisters serve the poor and needy in the midst of a brutal war in Sudan. The sisters commiunity, Dar Mariam, has been a refuge for hundreds, though has damaged by gunfire and bombs. May 2024. For over a year, the people of Sudan — one of the largest countries in Africa — have suffered under a brutal civil war that has reduced the capital, Khartoum, to a war zone. Daniele Comboni la incontrò casualmente una prima volta nel paesino di Erbezzo (Verona), nel maggio del 1871, dove una folla attendeva convinta un’apparizione mariana. Tra la gente una giovane di 22 anni, curiosa ma scettica in attesa degli eventi. L’atteggiamento non sfuggì a padre Comboni che, su incarico della curia veronese, stava verificando la veridicità di quella supposta apparizione.

El pasado 1 de junio, Monseñor Léonard Ndjadi Ndiaye, obispo auxiliar de Kisangani (R. D. del Congo) se unió a un grupo de voluntarios en la limpieza de las inmundicias del mercado de Tshopo, en Kisangani. El misionero comboniano, vestido con su sotana episcopal y un chaleco amarillo, llamó la atención de cuantos lo vieron. En Congo y en tantos otros lugares del mundo es muy poco habitual ver a un obispo barriendo los espacios públicos.
