“The APDESAM – Comboni English Speaking Provinces of Africa and Mozambique – is right to make vocation promotion one of the priorities in her mission for now as for the future. Looking at the joys and the challenges of vocation promotion, I feel we need to prepare confreres who are ready to journey with the young people and direct them to a proper discernment of the vocational path. By preparation, this does not mean only academic formation but the whole person ready to insert himself into the life of young people, to understand their values, to accept them in totality and ready to learn from them.” (Fr. Recentemente, o P. Fernando Domingues foi convidado pelos missionários espiritanos portugueses, reunidos em assembleia provincial, a falar sobre o tema “Missionários consagrados, na Igreja local”. Para o P. Fernando, superior provincial dos Combonianos em Portugal, a presença dos institutos missionários na Igreja local são «a memória viva da missão…, uma presença que ajuda as comunidades a sentirem-se em caminho com uma Igreja que é muito mais ampla do que os limites ‘da nossa freguesia’».
