The Lunar New Year starts today, February 10, 2024. It is being celebrated as the “Year of the Wood Dragon” and marks the end of winter and welcomes the spring season. The New Year marks the first new moon of the lunar calendar which generally falls between January 21 and February 20. This year, it starts on February 10, 2024. It also marks the beginning of the 15-day Spring Festival.

Let’s understand why 2024 is called the Year of the Wood Dragon. In the Lunar Calendar, the Dragon holds a special place and represents power, strength, and good fortune. The Dragon when combined with the nourishing Wood element, will bring evolution, improvement, and abundance; it is the perfect time for rejuvenated beginnings and setting the foundation for long-term success.

I wish all these blessings to our MCCJ Institute, to our Delegation, to each one of us and to our families, friends, relatives and collaborators!

A blessed Lunar New Year to everyone!
