Recognition of the CLM in the Archdiocese of Nairobi

On May 20, the Comboni Lay Missionaries (CLM) were officially recognized and welcomed as an ecclesial movement by His Excellency Most Reverend Philip Anyolo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Nairobi, Kenya. Following this recognition, CLM Kenya members gathered from June 4 to 8 in Kitelakapel (Kacheliba/West Pokot). It was a special time of reflection, prayer, and strategic planning for the future of the CLM community.
Pope Leo XIV Appoints Apostolic Administrators for Beira and Quelimane Dioceses Following Death of Bishop Osório

Pope Leo XIV has appointed Apostolic Administrators for the Catholic Archdiocese of Beira and the Diocese of Quelimane in Mozambique following the passing on June 6 of Bishop Osório Citora Afonso. Bishop Osório was found dead in his residence after a gunshot incident during the early hours of Saturday, June 6. He was aged 54. Mozambican authorities confirmed that assailants gained entrance to the residence of the fourth Bishop of Quelimane Diocese and opened fire, striking him in the chest. Bishop Osório also served as Apostolic Administrator of Beira Archdiocese.

We started last year with the confirmation of our departure, and with that came the documents from Brazil to process our visa—and then the complications began: our vehicles broke down, many of our household appliances failed, work piled up, and our parents fell ill.
