The General Council's letter on mission notes that "in various contexts, sometimes even in formation, a worrying clerical trend is emerging. For example, we note a concentration of our presence in traditional parishes and in a type of ordinary pastoral ministry that is more tied to the past than to today's missionary challenges and to social ministry according to the Comboni charism."

Mitte Juni hatte die Gottesdienst- und Weggemeinde Mellatz zu einer Fahrt nach Penzberg eingeladen, wo ein Besuch der dortigen Islamischen Gemeinde mit Imam Benjamin Idriz und eine Besichtigung der Moschee mit Frau Gönül Yerli (im Bild: Islamwissenschaftlerin, Lehrerin und im Vorstand der Islamischen Gemeinde) auf dem Programm standen.

Depuis 2024, Mgr Christian Carlassare est le premier évêque de Bentiu, le plus jeune diocèse du Soudan du Sud, situé à la frontière avec le Soudan, dans le Unity State. Récemment, dans une interview réalisée par Maria Biedrawa, membre de l’Association Justice et Paix France, Mgr Christian nous laisse un message clair : « Nous sommes appelés à être des artisans créatifs de paix, prêts à reconstruire les ponts récemment endommagés par la nouvelle politique de polarisation menée par les oligarques. »

The mission continues! For the past three months, I have been on mission in Piquiá, Açailândia, in the state of Maranhão, where I work at the Rural Family Home (CFR), which serves students in their first, second, and third years of high school—mostly the children of farmers who, in addition to theoretical instruction, learn hands-on skills in agriculture, vegetable gardening, fruit growing, fish farming, animal husbandry, and beekeeping.

We met her three years ago. A little Bedouin girl in a village in the West Bank’s desert. Extremely shy. Always keeping to herself. Barely speaking. She seemed to be living behind an invisible wall. This week, during the summer camp in her village, we could hardly believe our eyes.
