For World Mission Day 2026, which marks the centenary of a celebration established by Pius XI that is very dear to the Church, I have chosen the theme “One in Christ, united in mission.” Following the Jubilee Year, I wish to encourage the whole Church to continue its missionary journey with joy and zeal in the Holy Spirit. This requires hearts united in Christ, reconciled communities and, in everyone, a willingness to cooperate with generosity and trust. (…)

Un appello per porre fine alla tratta» è il tema della 12° Giornata mondiale di preghiera e riflessione contro la tratta di persone, che si celebra ogni anno l’8 febbraio, in occasione della Festa di Santa Giuseppina Bakhita. Donna e suora sudanese, ridotta in schiavitù dall’età di sette anni, Santa Bakhita è divenuta nel tempo il simbolo universale dell’impegno della Chiesa contro la tratta.

Los Misioneros Combonianos son un Instituto formado por sacerdotes y hermanos. El pasado día 1 de enero, del total de 1.449 combonianos, tan solo 183 eran hermanos. Esta diferencia numérica, en cierto modo, puede justificar la afirmación del sacerdote peruano José Miguel Córdova: «Se habla poco sobre la vocación de hermano comboniano; por eso se me ocurrió escribir este texto que, quién sabe, pueda ayudar a algún joven a seguir este bello camino de vida». República Centro-Africana: as lições da(s) estrada(s)

Aterrei em Bangui, capital da República Centro-Africana, depois de fazer Roma-Adis Abeba e regressar à África Central. Visitei comunidades espiritanas nas dioceses de Bangui, M’baiki e Bouar, o que implicou atravessar o país de lado a lado, desde a fronteira da República Democrática do Congo à dos Camarões. Pude encontrar os bispos destas três dioceses e partilhar alegrias e angústias dos meus confrades e dos muitos leigos que com eles vivem e fazem a missão acontecer.
