Fr. Enrique Sánchez González is on an official visit to the Comboni province of Malawi-Zambia, from July 15 to August 12, 2013. Father Enrique wanted to share in the joy of his Comboni confreres who work in this province which is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Comboni presence in these two countries. After having visited the communities of Malawi, the superior general left for Zambia on July 29. In the picture: Fr. Enrique, Archbishop Rémi, and Deacon Elias Patrick Lipenga.

On July 29, Fr. Enrique Sánchez concluded the first part of his visit to the Comboni communities of Malawi.

One of the most important moments of his visit to the communities of Malawi was his presence at the ordination to the diaconate of the young Comboni scholastic, Elias Patrick Lipenda (picture on the right) in the parish of Msamba in Lilongwe.

Following that, Fr. Enrique went to visit the technical school of Lunzu, run by the Comboni Missionaries, and the confreres of the community of Lirangwe and Lisungwe. While at the postulancy of Balaka, besides speaking with the postulants and their educators, he took the time to visit the new Media Center of the Monfort Fathers.

The superior general also met with Archbishop Tarcisius Gervazio Ziyaye of Blantyre, Archbishop Rémi Joseph Gustave Sainte-Marie of Lilongwe and a Malawi community of Sisters of St. Clare. We take note that at the beginning of the month, on July 3, Pope Francis accepted the resignation from pastoral ministry in the archdiocese of Lilongwe of Archbishop Rémi Joseph Gustave Saint-Marie, M.Afr. and appointed to the see of Lilongwe Archbishop Tarcisius Gervazio Ziyaye, up to now archbishop of Blantyre.
Currently Fr. Enrique is in Zambia.
