From July 6 to 18, Fr. Radol Austin Odhiambo, General Assistant of Kenyan nationality who oversees the Comboni Provinces in Europe, is visiting Spain.
The objective of this visit is “to gather the contributions of the various communities of the European Provinces, fostering a process of shared discernment that contributes to responsible decision-making in the path of reorganization and collaboration among the European Provinces,” explains Fr. Radol himself.
With this purpose, he will visit the different communities to meet with the Comboni missionaries, learn about the reality of each one up close, and share a time of fraternal dialogue, listening, and discernment.
The first meeting took place in Madrid on July 7, 2026, where Fr. Radol presented the most relevant news regarding the life and mission of the Institute, the situation of the European Provinces, and the reality of the Comboni Province of Spain.
One of the central themes of the meeting was the process of reunification of the European Provinces. In a climate of openness and co-responsibility, the participants shared their reflections, concerns, and proposals.
Following his stay in Madrid, Fr. Radol continues his tour of the Comboni communities in Moncada, Barcelona, Palencia, and Palas de Rei.
The visit will conclude in Lisbon, where he will participate in the Continental Assembly of European Provincials (ACPE).
