DR Congo: Two new perpetual professed and deacons for the Church and the Comboni Institute

The scholastics Apetokou Kossivi Paul, from Togo, and Nyiker Changjwok Abdalla, from South Sudan, made their perpetual vows on August 13, 2026, and were ordained deacons two days later on the outskirts of Kinshasa, the Congolese capital.
The Eucharistic celebration of the perpetual vows took place in the parish of St. Paul VI, in the neighborhood of Bibwa/N’Sele, in an atmosphere filled with joy and thanksgiving.
The Provincial Councillor, Father Manuel Ceola, received the perpetual profession of the two scholastics on behalf of the Superior General.
Several confreres took part in this celebration, surrounding the two new professed with their prayer and fraternity.
Two days later, on August 15, 2026, on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the two new perpetual professed took a new step in their missionary vocation by receiving diaconal ordination in the parish of St. John the Apostle.
Bishop Jean Crispin Kimbeni, of the Diocese of Kisantu, ordained the two deacons during a celebration marked by prayer, joy, and thanksgiving.
The perpetual vows and the diaconate constitute a decisive stage in the vocational journey of Paul and Abdalla.
They are also a sign of the vitality of the Church, called to welcome and accompany new servants of the Gospel, as well as a moment of grace for the Church-family of God in Congo and for the Comboni Institute.
Through their perpetual profession and diaconal ordination, Paul and Abdalla have renewed their commitment to the service of God and His people, in the spirit of St. Daniel Comboni and at the heart of the Church's mission.
