“Sorsi di Luce”: Prayer and practical support for two Comboni schools in Cairo

For several years, the spirit behind the “Sorsi di Luce” calendar has been to offer a Gospel-inspired thought to reflect upon while promoting a small but concrete contribution toward a cause of fraternal charity. The initiative is supported by a small group dedicated to Christian meditation, catechesis, and prayer.

The “Sorsi di Luce” 2027 calendar has chosen to support the Comboni educational project involving two schools in Cairo that currently welcome approximately 1,100 refugee girls and boys from Sudan and South Sudan.

Among the many important Comboni initiatives operating in Sudan and Egypt, Father Diego Dalle Carbonare, Provincial Superior of Egypt-Sudan, indicated to the group that it could contribute to these two schools, which are currently facing serious difficulties following the loss of one of their long-standing donors.

The Word of God, when heard and meditated upon, truly always changes not only our own lives but also the lives of those around us, without any boundaries. As people turn the pages of the “Sorsi di Luce” 2027 calendar throughout the year, it will be heartening to know that they are also helping children along their journey of growth and education—and, above all, helping them maintain hope for a better future.

“Sorsi di Luce” is a resource designed to inspire the hearts of all those who wish to nourish themselves with the Word of God, which saves and heals, and to draw their hearts, minds, and spirits closer to the Light—the only Light capable of offering humanity true and complete Joy.

By visiting the website, it is possible to learn about introductory courses in Christian meditation and guided Christian meditation, as well as the dates of the catechesis sessions in the “Keys of Knowledge” series. This year’s theme is Ήσυχία (Hesychia). The sessions are held every two months from October 15 through April at the parish church of Centrale, in the municipality of Zugliano, in the western Vicenza area, in northern Italy.
