Brazil opens the Comboni Jubilee Year

The Comboni Province of Brazil officially begins the Comboni Jubilee Year today, celebrating 75 years of Comboni missionary presence in Brazil and 160 years since the foundation of the Institute.
On the Solemnity of Saint Daniel Comboni, this October 10, 2026, the Comboni Missionaries inaugurate the Comboni Jubilee Year, which will run until October 10, 2027.
The Jubilee Year celebrates 75 years of the Comboni Missionaries’ presence in Brazil and 160 years since the foundation of the Institute of the Comboni Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus.
The celebration takes place under the theme: “COMBONI MISSIONARIES: Memory, Gratitude and Prophecy – 75 Years in Brazil.”
Through this celebration, the Brazilian Province wishes to give thanks to God for the charism of Daniel Comboni in the Church and throughout the world, and for the Comboni missionary presence in Brazil.
Join us as we remember our history, celebrate with joy and gratitude, and, together with Comboni, live out our mission with fervour and prophetic vision.
