On October 10, 2023, tucked in a very small chapel were some more than 200 people of the Parish of St. Daniel Comboni in Bataan, Philippines. For the first time, they joined the Comboni Family in celebrating the feast of a great missionary, St. Daniel. It is a sign that the charism of Daniel Comboni is relevant even in the country that recently celebrated its 500 years of evangelization.

I am Father Benjosef Carlos Raposa from the Philippines. At the age of seven, I followed my older brothers and became an altar server. In high school, I was involved in catechetical ministry and volunteer work. “My encounter with the World Mission Magazine in a seemingly random way caught my heart month after month. I found an invitation at the back of the magazine, one which I could not just ignore. (...) It was the start of a year-long discernment that clarified my yes to the Lord.” [Comboni Missionaries]

With Easter joy and deep gratitude to the Risen Lord, the Delegation of Asia was united to celebrate the Perpetual Profession held on April 15, 2023, and the Diaconate Ordination held on April 16, 2023, of Rev. Benjosef Carlos Dapilos Raposa. The diaconate ordination was chaired by the laying on of hands by your Excellency Honesto Ongtioco, D.D., bishop of the Diocese of Cubao, MM, Philippines.
