Bro. Alberto Lamana Cónsola, member of the General Council in Rome, visited from the 4th to 23rd January the Comboni province of South Sudan. Both for Bro. Alberto and the province it was a joyful and refreshing experience of re-encounter. South Sudan was the first mission where the Brother had started his missionary work and specifically in Mapuordit Mission. He visited five communities: Mapuordit, Yirol, Tali, the Provincial House in Juba and the Pre-postulancy just in the outskirt of Juba, in a place called Moroyok. In the picture: Bro. Alberto Lamana and Fr. Okot Ochermoi Louis Tony, provincial superior, in Rumbek.

In each of these communities he had time to meet the confreres individually. He also had time to visit some parish centers and schools and the hospital. His visit was significant and empowering. Beside his visit to some communities he also participated in our provincial assembly which took place from the evening of 16th to 23rd January. This gave him an opportunity to meet each confrere who came from various missions individually. In his sharing during the provincial assembly he helped the province to understand the situation of personnel in the Institute. He also enlightened and encouraged us on the purpose of merging.

Beside the visit of Bro. Lamana, we had our provincial assembly. The participants were 34 confreres. Among the 34 confreres we had Fr. Lurati Claudio, the Treasurer General. He gave us an input on the topic of “Economy as a service in the church and in religious life”. The first two days of the provincial assembly were dedicated to the communities.

Fr. Claudio Lurati presided mass in St. Kizito parish on January 21, 2018 concelebrated by Fr. Martin Arnanz Isaac, Fr. Maku Joseph, Fr. Aranda Nava J. Jesus and Fr. Okot Ochermoi Louis Tony.
