Yacob Solomon Shole, an Ethiopian Comboni Missionary, was ordained deacon by the hands of Rev. Vincent Mojwok Nyiker, Bishop Emeritus of Malakal diocese, last Sunday in Leer (South Sudan). “With deep joy we thank the Lord and accompany Yacob through these wonderful events so important for him personally and for the whole mission”, wrote the superior of the community of Leer, Fr. Francesco Chemello.

Yacob Solomon Shole – after two years of community and pastoral experience in the Comboni community of Leer, in the parish of St. Joseph the Worker – was ordained Deacon last Sunday 19th of May, feast of Pentecost, by Rev. Vincent Mojwok, bishop emeritus of Malakal Diocese. The Holy Spirit, once again, has accomplished another of his wonderful works in Yacob and in the entire Christian community of Leer.
Yacob has completed his theological studies in Nairobi and then assigned for his missionary experience to South Sudan. Now the Superior General, Fr. Enrique Sánchez G., has again assigned him to work in South Sudan for the coming years. So, after his ordination to the priesthood, which will take place in Ethiopia, he will be coming back to Leer to continue his pastoral work among the Nuer population.

“With deep joy we thank the Lord and accompany Yacob through these wonderful events so important for him personally and for the whole mission”, wrote the superior of the community of Leer, Fr. Francesco Chemello.
