On the 15th of May, 2021, nine novices from the Novitiate of Lusaka, capital and largest city of Zambia, made their first religious profession in front of the Provincial Superior of Malawi-Zambia, Fr. Mumba Michael Nyowani and the Provincial Superior of South Sudan, Fr. Louis Tony Okot Ochermoi. The celebration was simple but well prepared and lived.

The newly professed are from Kenya (1), Ethiopia (2), South Sudan (2), Uganda (2) and Ghana (2). Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the celebration took place in the chapel of the novitiate with a limited number of participants: our confreres from the nearby communities, the Comboni Sisters, a priest from the neighboring community of the M. Afr. and one of the workers.

The main celebrant Fr. Mumba Michael Nyowani reminded the participants and particularly the newly professed, about the need to make the journey of following Jesus as missionaries with trust in the Lord and faithfulness despite the challenges that may come our way. Fr. Mumba Michael Nyowani, received the vows of the novices from Ethiopia, Uganda and Ghana, representing their respective Provincial Superiors. Fr. Louis Tony Okot Ochermoi received the vows of the Novices from South Sudan and Kenya. The newly professed expressed their gratitude to all who have been accompanying them from the beginning of their journey till this stage. We thank the Lord for the gift of nine new confreres.

For the next stage of their basic formation, the newly professed have received joyfully their assignments to the scholasticates of Casavatore, Kinshasa, Nairobi and Pietermaritzburg. We continue accompanying them on their pilgrimage to be consecrated and sent in Mission.
