ACSE Thanks Sister Lucia for Her Six Years of Service to Migrants in Rome

On 8th November, members, volunteers, and friends of the Comboni Association for Migrants and Refugees (ACSE in Italian acronym) gathered at the Association’s headquarters in Rome to bid farewell to Comboni Missionary Sister Lucia Cacelli during a Eucharistic celebration, presided over by Father Giorgio Padovan. After six years of service with ACSE, Sister Lucia has been assigned to a new mission at the motherhouse of her congregation in Verona. At ACSE, Sister Lucia taught Italian to migrants and was particularly committed to the food distribution programme: every Thursday, the Association distributes about 100 food parcels to migrants.
Those who attended the celebration warmly thanked Sister Lucia for her generous dedication in serving migrants and wished her a fruitful apostolate in her new assignment. On this occasion, the sister who will replace sister Lucia at ACSE was introduced: she is Ornella Monti, formerly a missionary in Kenya.
Sister Lucia has carried out her missionary work in several African countries (including the Central African Republic, Congo, and Cameroon) and in Latin America (Mexico, Costa Rica, and Guatemala), dedicating herself to education, women’s empowerment, catechist training, and the formation of young Comboni candidates.
