Father Jemboy Caspis Salarde from the Philippines shares his vocation journey with us. “I remember very well the difficult situation I found myself in when I felt God was calling me to a religious vocation. Being the only child of my parents, I experienced all the love and care they could ever give me. Home then was my refuge, my security, so the thought of leaving home was heartbreaking”, writes the missionary.

El escolástico vietnamita Joseph Tran Dinh Phuc llegó el pasado 18 de agosto a Madrid sin saber una sola palabra de español y muy poco de la cultura española. Pero llegó con la ilusión de quien quiere aprender y dispuesto a afrontar el choque cultural porque sabe que forma parte inevitable de la vida misionera. Joseph Phuc (en el centro de la foto el día de su partida de Ho Chi Minh) fue destinado a la comunidad del escolasticado de Granada para hacer los estudios de teología.

Father Noel Sakie Tchawe, a Comboni missionary priest from Togo, shares his vocation story. “I spent the first three months learning Tagalog in Sucat, Parañaque – Fr. Noel tells us –. After that, I went to Orion in Bataan, where I spent three months in St. Michael the Archangel parish for my exposure. I had an excellent experience with the Christian community. I will always treasure their great sense of hospitality and simplicity. Back in the Comboni community in Parañaque, I am part of the editorial team of World Mission magazine and, at the same time, studying journalism.”
