The World Social Forum (WSF) opened this morning, March 26, in Tunis with a tumultuous assembly of women. “It is very beautiful that the WSF begins with an assembly of women,” said the president of the women of Tunis, Ahlan Belhaj Khalifa, who last year received the Alex Langer Prize3.

Domani, 26 marzo si aprirà a Tunisi il Forum Sociale Mondiale che proseguirà nel Campus dell’Università di Tunisi fino al 30 marzo. Oltre il solito slogan “Un altro mondo è possibile” il tema centrale di quest’anno è la Dignità. “Al centro del Forum – spiega il tunisino Fethi Dabako – c’è la parola DIGNITÀ che racchiude tutto quello che può volere un essere umano: libertà, diritto alla vita e a spostarsi liberamente”.

“The promotion of Peace, Reconciliation, Social and Environmental Justice is an essential dimension of mission. Gradually, we are becoming aware of the particular urgency of the ecological question and, consequently, of the necessity to include it among our priorities of apostolic action.” With these words begins the “Open Letter to the Comboni Family”, written by the Comboni Missionaries, Comboni Sisters and lay people who participated in the Comboni Forum of the Integrity of Creation 20-25 last June, in Rio de Janeiro.
