“Easter means passing from death to life, from slavery to freedom, from darkness to light, which makes of life the most beautiful experience and gift we have been given. We wholeheartedly wish you a holy Easter and that it may be for each of you a moment of profound renewal, recognizing that, by his death, the Lord has transformed us into new persons and calls us to live in the world as witnesses of his resurrection. Happy and Holy Easter to all.” (Message of Fr. Enrique Sánchez G., General Superior, and General Council).

Happy and Holy
EASTER

Dear Confreres,

We have now come to the days that make us live the most extraordinary mystery of our faith. The Lord Jesus, in total obedience to the Father, takes the road to Calvary to offer the gift of his life so that we may have life in him.

God the Father, Who so loved us, did not spare his Son, and in him He entrusted himself to us to make us understand how much He loves us.

In a time when everything seems upside down and where the shadows of death are visible in many parts of our world, the Lord makes himself present to remind us that there is no reason to be overwhelmed by intimidations and fears.

He has conquered death

In the mystery of his death and resurrection we can clearly hear his voice that tells us firmly how He has conquered death and that in Him we are called to live fully, in the hope and certainty that, even today, God is at work in our lives.

The Lord, like a lamb led to the slaughter to be sacrificed, does not open his mouth, does not reject what he is being asked, does not seek his own profit nor his wellbeing, does not think of his own interests and accepts to go all the way, in the search for the Father’s will with the sole desire to please Him.

The way of the mission

The journey to Calvary makes us think about the journey that so many of our confreres, in our Institute, travel along in our time by the way they live the mission with all its demands, willing to do anything to become an instrument of life, the life that only the Risen Lord can give to our humanity.

For us this Easter is a special time: we live, in fact, as we prepare for XVIII General Chapter, a special moment in our journey as disciples and missionaries.

Easter is offered to us in this hour as a bright light that makes us contemplate the future with confidence, not allowing us to get discouraged by the shadows that are part of our landscape, as we share the suffering and pain of so many of our brothers and sisters in the missions where we are present.

The Lord wishes to shine his light and make his presence shine through our lives, by making them available to all the brothers and sisters in the mission, which has become an urgency at this moment in our history.

A passage to a new life

Easter means passing from death to life, from slavery to freedom, from darkness to light, which makes of life the most beautiful experience and gift we have been given.

We wholeheartedly wish you a holy Easter and that it may be for each of you a moment of profound renewal, recognizing that, by his death, the Lord has transformed us into new persons and calls us to live in the world as witnesses of his resurrection.

Happy and Holy Easter to all.
