The entire second week of work by the pre-Chapter commission was dedicated to the preparation of the Instrumentum Laboris for the Chapter. This is the most delicate part: consists in the summary of the contents and proposals that have been received in recent months by the General Administration, continental assemblies, circumscriptions, groups and various confreres who contributed individually. In communion with all of you, we celebrated the feast of The Sacred Heart of Jesus. “It will always be the Heart of Jesus to help us look to the future without falling into discouragement, sadness and disappointment, because from the Heart of God new things are always born for the good of all those who open themselves to love”. (Message of Father General the day Heart of Jesus).

The Instrumentum Laboris seeks to systematize our analyses and ideas. We dwelt on the four dimensions that have guided the reflection of all the confreres to the Chapter: Person, Spirituality, Mission and Reorganization. We tried to ensure that the inspirational theme of “The Joy of Gospel” enlightened all these dimensions. We have endeavoured to prepare a synthetic instrument, clear in the proposals and issues being raised in each dimension while remaining faithful to the contributions received. We are still in the process of revising and improving this text which will be presented to the Capitulars already during the preparatory week, so that they may become familiar with it.

In communion with all of you, we celebrated the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus “in the certainty that the Lord continues to cherish in his heart a plan for humanity that no one can frustrate, because it will always be a project of love and love does not halt in the face of obstacles. […] It will always be the Heart of Jesus to help us look to the future without falling into discouragement, sadness and disappointment, because from the Heart of God new things are always born for the good of all those who open themselves to love”. (Message of the Superior General for the day of the Sacred Heart).
