Appello del Papa Francesco per Sudan e Sud Sudan: “Basta violenze”

Oggi, alla fine dell’Angelus, il Santo Padre ha richiamato l’attenzione del mondo sulla tragedia che si consuma dall’aprile 2023 in Sudan. “La più grave crisi umanitaria nel mondo”, la definisce infatti Papa Francesco, “con conseguenze drammatiche anche in Sud Sudan”. Il Papa chiama in causa la comunità internazionale perché faccia “tutto il possibile per far arrivare gli aiuti umanitari necessari agli sfollati ed aiutare i belligeranti a trovare presto strade per la pace”. Secondo il recente report dell’UNICEF “Prospects for Children: Global Outlook 2025”, è in corso una “nuova era di crisi” per l’infanzia. Sull’Africa, pesano molto non solo i conflitti armati ma anche il cambiamento climatico e il debito, che soffoca gli investimenti in istruzione e sanità. Di fronte a queste sfide, il report dell’UNICEF invita la comunità internazionale a intraprendere azioni coordinate e decisive.
