Beloved Comboni Family
As you know, the Comboni Lay Missionaries, representatives of most of the different countries we are present, have held a meeting in Maia (Portugal) for a week of reflection – 2 to 9 December 2012 – as it was done six years ago. This reflection dealt with the challenges we will be facing in the coming six years. We wish to share with everyone the results of our V Intercontinental Assembly, which you will find reported in the attachments. You will, then, be able to know what was discussed so that we may proceed forward together.

We also wish to inform you that a new Central Committee of the CLM was elected for a period of six years. We will do our best to encourage and serve the international work of the CLM and to support each member in his/her commitments.
The members of the Central Committee (in the picture from left) are:

  • Mr. Carlos Barros (LMC Portugal-Mozambique).
  • Fr. Maciej Zieliński (MCCJ Poland).
  • Ms. Cristina Paulek (LMC Brazil).
  • Mr. Alberto de la Portilla, (LMC Spain) as coordinator.
  • Fr. Arlindo Pinto (MCCJ General Council delegate).

On my behalf and on behalf of the Central Committee we assure our collaboration for the coming years, to strengthen our family ties as the Comboni Family and as LMC. United in prayer and in the same spirit that inspired St. Daniel Comboni, receive a fraternal embrace.
Alberto de la Portilla
